Happy 2018 from Ukiyo Store! It’s hard to believe we are already half-way through the month!

Currently, we are running our second exhibition upstairs at Ukiyo Store – a selection of etchings exploring Growth & Decay from local artist Nicole O’Loughlin. Thanks to those who braved an afternoon of heavy showers to attend the opening on Saturday 13th January. The exhibition has been extended until Saturday the 3rd February so there is still plenty of time to drop on by and take a look. Nicole has also dropped in a few more un-framed pieces that are also available for purchase at Ukiyo Store.

January has also seen the delivery of new stock from Eva’s Sunday’s¬†Jessamine Collection and new goodies from¬†High Tea With Mrs Woo along with more Japanese Haori, Kasuri Dresses, and Kiriko Made Dopp kits, small purses and some gorgeous mini vases – handmade hand-painted pottery from the town of Mashiko. Using local clay that is special to the area, the artisans still practice the same century-old techniques to create their wares. As a result, each piece has slight variances in color and texture that make it truly unique.

Finally, Saturday 3rd February will mark Ukiyo Store’s 1st Birthday!!!!! Stay tuned for details on our celebrations planned for in-store…
